Complete Solar Kits 

Tycon Power Systems offers complete solar kits which include high efficiency solar panel, pole/wall mount, solar battery charge controller and outdoor rated low loss power cable.

The solar panels are high efficiency designs with excellent low light performance. The multicrystalline silicon solar cells are laminated with a TPT (Tedlar/Polyester/Tedlar) and EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) bi-layer for high reliability and long life. The cell array is sealed in a heavy duty extruded aluminum frame with a high transparency low iron tempered glass cover to protect the solar cells from harsh environments; hail, wind, snow and ice.

The solar panel mounts are heavy gauge aluminum with stainless hardware and facilitate mounting the solar panels to a pole or a south facing wall. The mounts with panels are rated to 110MPH. The solar kits include a 10'  12AWG outdoor rated power cable and a 10A or 15A  solar battery charge controller.

Solar Panels 

Tycon Power Systems specializes in lower wattage solar panels for remote power applications.  We manufacture 5W 12V, 10W 12V, 30W 12V and 30W 24V high efficiency panels.

Solar Panel Mounts        

The TPSM-10-40-SP is a simple yet effective adjustable tilt mount for 10W to 40W solar panels. The mount accommodates solar panels to 21.5" width.

The TPSM-60-SP is the same basic design but is engineered for 60W and 85W solar panels. The mount accommodates solar panels to 26" width.

The unique design installs very quickly and is engineered to survive 110MPH winds. They install to 2" to 4.5" diameter poles. The tilt angle is easily adjustable from 15 to 65 deg. The TPSM-120-SPX is a Heavy Duty mount designed to hold solar panels up to 120W.  The design can accommodate panels with a width up to 27" with hole spacing of 26.9"and is engineered to survive winds to 110MPH. The mount can be installed to a pole with diameter from 2" to 4.5". The tilt is easily adjustable from 15 to 65 deg. The construction is all aluminum for many years of trouble free application and lower shipping costs.

Battery Charge Controllers        

Tycon Power Systems TP-SC24-10 and TP-SC24-15 solar controllers are 3 stage PWM type battery charging controllers controlled by an industrial CPU. The controllers are autodetect 12/24V battery voltage.
They have full electronic protections for short circuit, reverse current, overvoltage, overcharge and over discharge. They offer battery overdischarge protection by disconnecting the load when battery voltage reaches 11.1V (22V for 24V battery) and automatically reconnecting the load when battery voltage reaches 12.2V (24.2V for 24V battery).

The controllers have a very low self consumption of <8mA. The built in overdischarge protection and low self consumption ensures the battery is not overdischarged, which greatly increases the life of the batteries.

They have three multifunction LED indicators to give a quick visual status of the load status, if battery is charging or fully charged, as well as any fault condition.

Connections are via 6 screw terminals for wire size up to 10AWG. The controllers are externally fused with a standard replaceable fuse. There are 4 screw holes for mounting.  (Spec Sheet) | (User Guide)

Now with 30W POE output on most models! Tycon Power Systems unique POE/Solar charge controllers with built-in POE Inserter have dual inputs to charge batteries from a POE source and also a secondary source like solar panels in order to provide redundancy and insure 100% uptime for critical applications. The solar panel takes priority so that when the sun is shining the grid power usage is minimized. They have a built in POE inserters and the 12V battery model has integral DC to DC converter that delivers 12V, 18V, 24V or 48V at the POE port. They have full electronic protections for short circuit, reverse current, over-voltage, over-charge and over-discharge. They control the battery charging current to prevent battery damage from overcharging.
The built-in over-discharge protection and low self consumption ensures the battery is not over-discharged, which greatly increases the life of the batteries. The load is turned off when 12V battery voltage reaches 11V and turns back on automatically when battery voltage reaches 12V. Likewise on a 24V battery system the 24V model turns off the load at 20V and back on at 22V battery voltage.

They have five LED indicators to give a quick visual status if current is being supplied by a POE source or solar panel, if battery is charging, If load output is turned on and a warning if battery is connected with reverse polarity.
Solar and Battery Connections are via 4 screw terminals for wire size up to 12AWG. POE Input and Output is via 2 RJ45 shielded connectors. There is a secondary voltage output connector on the back with 5 screw terminals for connecting other electronics to the controller using up to 12AWG wire. The controllers are externally fused with a standard replaceable fuse. 

There is also a 24V model available for 24V battery systems. The POE output is regulated at 24V. The secondary voltage output has overvoltage protection set at 25V max.  (Spec Sheet) | (User Manual)

Dual Input Solar/POE 24V Battery Charge Controller 60W Output  

The TP-SCPOE-24xx-HP High Power POE/Solar charge controllers with dual inputs charge batteries from a POE source and also a secondary source like solar panels in order to provide redundancy and insure 100% uptime for critical applications. They have a built in POE inserter with regulated output. They have full electronic protections for short circuit, reverse current, over-voltage, over-charge and over-discharge. They control the battery charging current to prevent battery damage from overcharging. The Controller accepts up to 2.6A on POE input to provide up to 60W total power capability. It also provides up to 8A on the solar input.

The controller gives priority to the solar panel input so grid electricity consumption is reduced when the solar panel is outputting power sufficient to charge the batteries.The built-in over-discharge protection and low self consumption ensures the battery is not over-discharged, which greatly increases the life of the batteries. The load is turned off when battery voltage is 20V and turns back on when battery voltage reaches 22V.The controller has five LED indicators to give a quick visual status if current is being supplied by a POE source or solar panel, if battery is charging, If load output is turned on and a warning if battery is connected with reverse polarity.
